Finnskogen

Finnskogen is an area in Eastern Norway where a large part of the Forest Finn settlement happened. It stretches from the municipality of Eidskogen in the south to Trysil in the north, with the village of Svulrya in the Solør area as its cultural centre, hosting, among other events, Finnskogdagene every year on the first weekend of July. However, one can find Norwegian Forest Finns settlements also in Finnemarka and other areas around Oslo, as the map below shows. To read more about the settlements, visit the website of the Forest Finn Association here (skogfinneforeningen.no).
