DEX PROJECT

Criteria and measurements for extrinsic durability in textile regulation

The objective of the DEX PROJECT is to examine the potential for and develop measurable criteria for including extrinsic durability in textile regulation such as Ecodesign for Sustainable Product Regulation (ESPR), Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules
Apparel & Footwear (PEFCR A&F) and the French Ecolabelling.

The project is initiated and led by Fédération de la Mode Circulare (FMC), COSE361 and En Mode Climat.

The FMC brings together more than 230 textile companies involved in circular economy initiatives at every level of the value chain. The Federation’s objectives are to support these structures in the economic development of their circular activities, to represent their interests to national ans European piblic authorities and to promote their activities to the general public.

COSE361’s mision is to accelerate the emergence of fashion that serves humanity’s ecological and social capital. They support the fashion ecosystem from strategic activism to impact project management, on the ground with the people in the industry.

En Mode Climat is a movement that brings together 600 French textile companies to reduce the environmental ipact of fashoin trhough legislative changes. To acvhieve this, the movement is calling for laws that promote sober consuimption and the relocation of the textile industry.

SIFO’s role in the project is as a member of the Scientific Committee, providing guidance on the execution and the evidence basis of the research undertaken in the project.
